Myth of Memories

My family photo album has played an important role of my family's ideology and family memories. When my family album was put together I was reminded of my family's history and possess sentimental ties within our family. Viewing photographs of my deceased loved ones enables my family and I, to manuscript our lives as they occurred and to remember all the memories we had made.
There are several questions that have to be answered in studying an icon. For instance, what mythology is the icon reifying? Is the icon serving as an intentional or unintentional purpose? Does the icon have a personal or universal outlook? Has the icon been resignified? Lastly, is the icon serving as a pure or functional icon?
I believe my family photo album represents The Myth of Memories and The Myth of Endless Childhood. Much like my family storytelling, it links us together as one intelligible family. The pictures begin when I was a little baby up to the present day. One photo that is particularly special to me is a group family shot at my high school graduation. I had family come in from Austin, Texas whom, I have not seen since I was a little baby. The picture symbolizes my family sticking together as one. That is one picture that I will never forget and that day will forever be in my mind and heart. I know whenever I am feeling sad or depressed, I can just look back at the memories and remember the good times I had with my family who lives so far away because of the pictures that I have in my family album.
My photo album serves as an intentional purpose, held together by collective identity within my family. Each photo was intentionally put in the album either by one of my family members or I. The unity of my family's photo album has so much significance clustered into one book. All the events that took place throughout the history of my life are all kept together collectively.
