Sociology
Sociology is the scientific study of human behavior that is shaped by society. It is a scientific study because it has a set of goals and methods used to answer questions, explain why things happen, make generalizations, and test ones hypothesis. Its hard to believe that one is not in complete control of the way his or her mind thinks, but this is something that sociology delves into quite a lot. Sociology does have similarities to other social sciences such as economists, political scientists, anthropologists, and psychologists. Like political scientist, sociologist study how people govern themselves in society. Like psychologists, sociologists study how people make adjustments to chang
They cannot grasp that every individual has a place in society, and contributes in some way no matter how minor. Sociology also understands structure and the changes that one must learn to look past in order to connect with the bigger picture. It can make connections between individuals in the society and their place in the larger scheme of things. Whereas political scientists and economists study a single establishment, sociology covers a wide range of social cultures and ideas. This idea of an underlying structure of society and its ways becomes overwhelming to people trying to deal with their own troubles and problems. Sociology ultimately uncovers the society and how it functions within itself. He sees them as being in their own little world where all they can see is their own problems and worries. They will see where they fit into the society and try to make the best of what they can. People end up feeling trapped by society and concentrating mainly on themselves. If people are able to d this they will ultimately feel less trapped and more able to fulfill their ambitions. Mills idea of alienation and a narrow perspective among most of society, is a good example of the way most people might feel. The idea of not being in control of every aspect of ones life seems to far away to grasp for most people, who are busy trying to deal with their jobs families and other stressful scenarios. The study also differs greatly from other social studies.
