             This book is composed of many different essays on Robert Frost's poetry. This critical essay written by Donald J. Greiner concentrates on Robert Frost as a poet who will be lodged forever in American Literature. Greiner discusses which of Frost's poetry would be best to be put in Frost's literary cannon. Frost's best and most essential poems would be put in the cannon and among those on the list is the poem, "Design." "Design" is put in the literary cannon of Frost because it is unique in the way that it is written and its theme is indispensable. Greiner discusses how this poem is one of the most unusual sonnets but also one of the most perfect sonnets ever written. He discusses how the poem would not be the same if it was written in any other form other than a sonnet because it would not have the same effect. He continues on to discuss what makes this poem so unusual in its form. This poem is also so powerful in the way that it uses everyday images to convey terror. The association of white along with ambiguity together in the poem cause for the sense of fear throughout the poem.
