Emotions And Colour
It is generally thought that certain colours are associated with certain emotions, the obvious example being red for anger. If this is the case then the animations could incorporate the theories of colour and emotion, and therefore make it easier for the emotions to be conveyed. The Psychology of Colour - S. Our reactions to colors are led by a combination of biological, physiological, psychological, social and cultural factors (Wu). The concept of warm and cool colours is well known amongst researchers in this area. Warm colors generally include magenta, red, orange, yellow, and yellow-green. These colors are associated with excitement, happiness and comfort.
Negative emotions, such as anger and sadness, are believed to fill an aura with dark and unpleasant colours while positive emotions, such as happiness, show as light and clear colours. Love suffuses the aura with rose pink. Most auric colours would seem obvious to us, red for anger, as previously discussed. With this in mind, further investigation of colours and emotions was needed, to try and generalise a specific colour for each emotion. The happy emotions show in bright, peaceful and beautiful colours. There is a shade of deep blue that supposedly shows in depressed auras, just as "feeling blue" suggests. So, the theory behind auras may be helpful in defining which colours correspond to which emotions. It is believed by many that someone's emotions can be shown clearly in their aura. 2 AurasThere is a theory that people and other animals have an aura of light that surrounds their body. It was decided that auras would be looked at to try and achieve this (see next section). It is safe to say that one person will react differently to a colour than the next person. Cool Colors generally include violet, blue, light blue, cyan and sea green.
