Today there are several thousand windmills worldwide; the future of windmills will all depend on how much they are needed. To get the most energy from a windmill it had to be placed in a flat area with a lot of wind. In the 19th century windmills were brought to the United States for irrigation purposes. This very day Europeans are still developing the perfect windmills, which produce the most energy. The newest windmills use computers to turn them selves; the more expensive part of the windmills is in fact the computer. When first windmills were built they were very expensive, but after a lot of research was done towards the factors of windmills they were made to be much cheaper.
