Racial Profiling
The individual that I chose for my particular case study was boy, and his name is (A.K.A) Joe. Joe is a black male and he is twelve years old. Joe is in the seventh grade and he attends school at Davis middle school in Bessemer, Alabama. Joe's character and attitude towards life stood out to me in our first impression. Because he comes from a single parent household and besides his mother and brothers nothing else is positive. Joe is an all around good kid; he's on the junior
But after she had Joe she had to let it got. Since his mother works nights at a local hospital, has no time to tend to those needs. What three things do I think Joe needs in his life? Some sort of a stable male role model, because mother and grandmother can teach him a lot but he is a boy and needs a father figure in his life. While I was talking to Joe, he brought it to my attention that he school didn't offer and after school tutelage so Joe's family consists of: Joe, his mother and his two younger brothers seven, and four. His grandmother usually is the one who makes sure Joe completes his studies and doesn't stay up half the night. Joe's grandparents also influence him, a side from taking him to church on Sundays and birthday parties at chucky cheese. honor society at school, and is very involved in sports at school. But I remark Joe that all people have obstacles in life; he looked at me and said, "I'm going to be somebody". They live in the south end of town called old Jonesboro in a two bedroom 1 bathroom apartment. When I spoke of Joe's father, he remarked that he didn't know, and mother later told me that he was a deadbeat living with his parents. As for his mother she is a graduate of a local high school, and a semester of local community college.
