Morality
Discuss to what extent you feel human beings have an obligation to be moral in their dealings and relationships with nature (excluding human beings) and for what reasons? Give specific examples of such dealings and relationships and argue your position fully. From childhood and throughout a lifetime, we are told what we can and cannot do. But why can we not do some things? Often times, the answer is, "Because it's wrong." But what is wrong? How does one determine the difference between right and wrong? What it usually comes down to is what morals are directing the decision. Whether it is what an individual thinks to be right or wrong, or what a groups of lawmakers thinks it to be, generally all of our decisions on what is or is not permissible comes from someone's interpretations of morality. But what are morals? The dictionary gives many definitions. "Of or concerned with the judgment of the goodness or badness of human action and character; conforming to standards of what is right or just in behavior; virtuous." In short
This is an ineffective answer, since it does not apply to someone outside the moral circle. Happiness could also be included in the list of moral reasons. , morals are simply how one interprets the differences between right and wrong. Many people try hard to dedicate their lives to being like certain historical figures such as Jesus of Nazareth, Buddha, or even Marilyn Manson. This in mind, there is really no way to prove this too a person who wants to know why he or she should be moral. I believe that there is an obligation taught to each of us by the current religious belief of out society. I believe we make decision based on the consequences we could face in our afterlife. I personally feel that this is the best supported reason for being moral. There are many different ways of developing morality. Morality is important for society as a whole, as it makes life livable. I believe we discern right and wrong on the basis of what is right or wrong to our principles. Sometimes someone will make an idol or an example out of another person, living or dead. When you vote to keep abortion legal, that is morals. And, as human nature tend to go, words turn into actions, and often wars have occurred because of conflicts between what is right or wrong.
