Canterbury Tales Parody

In the middle of the summer, in the blistering heat,There were three citizens who couldn't stay still in their seats.None had work or school and to nothing did they commit,Each thought of a pilgrimage and decided to have a go at it.While each member thought about what they should do,They brainstormed, and planned the trip that was long overdue. While sitting and thinking over mugs of cappuccino,Each thought it would be fun to travel to the land of casinos. The pilgrimage, they decided, would be as good as can be,They decided to drive from the east coast to other side of the country. And so our bored pilgrims depart on their way,But little did they know this trip wasn't the ordinary, everyday. While the event may throw into effect a life-altering course,It is not, for some, without a deep sense of remorse. The cars have pulled out; our characters are on their way,To the beginning of a new life, this is their very first day.The head of car number one is the overprotective father with two kids. This man is conservative and many things they wish to do, he forbids. He moved to the East from the Bible belt, and many customs he did bring,He dislikes many "new" ideas from evolution to his daughter's nose

So she stayed in the car, as docile as she could possibly be,But she thought of her dream future in a box in NYC. On this trip she did her best to keep a happy face,Thoughts of what she'd rather be doing, she did not want to embrace. Her personality was suppressed on this pilgrimage, for the most partHer energy, I suppose, she was saving; it was advice she took to heart. The car sped off toward the vacationers' goal,He thought of the possibility that once there on the Strip he could stroll. That move on her part brought her to everyone's immediate approval,From their ruts at home she took the action of their removal. She continued down this downward slope,To her parents, however, she was still the best hope. She told of how she wanted to live the glamorous life for one night,To her family, this piece of information was becoming rather trite. This trip could have offered her a sense of release,But her image anxiety could not help but increase. Gambling, he thought, was a Biblical sin,If anyone he knew saw him in the act, he would feel chagrin. He loves his family and would do anything to help them,Which is why he protects his kids with many an activity he condemns. She loves her family more than she can show,She was raised a conservative, those views didn't stick with her though.
