The Cold War
The Cold War, the tern Cold War is used to describe the post- World War II struggle between the United States and its allies, also The Soviet Union and its allies#. During the Cold War era which lasted from the mid 1940's all the way through the late 1980's , two major political beliefs were involve in the Cold War , Democracy which was the US and its allies, and communism which was the Soviet Union and its allies. The Principle allies of the United States during the Cold War was Britain, France, West Germany, Japan, and Canada. On the Soviets side was most of Eastern Europe like Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Poland, East Germany, and Romania, also during parts of the Cold War Cuba and China#. Even Before the defeat of Nazi Germany in May 1945, the United States and the USSR had become divided over
At the beginning of the Cold War there was a conference, and conference called the Yalta Conference, which was with Stalin, Churchill, and Roosevelt it was held in Eastern Europe#. This term paper will give you the reader a basic background of the Cold War, but will be more focused on the Cuban Missile crises, and the Ronald Reagan term in office. But during this Cold War era both sides clung to the hope that their growing differences could be surmounted and something of the spirit of their earlier wartime cooperation could be preserved#. T he communist played a very big role in the Cold War, it was the communist Vs the Democracies. During the Cold Way communism became very popular, China became communist in 1949, when the Chinese leader Mao Zendong took over. Stalin, whose forces had driven the Germans out of Poland in 1944 and 1945 and established a pro-communist provisional government there, believed that Soviet control of Poland was necessary for his country's security. The conference gave a lot of ideas and a lot of arguments between them, they all had difference in opinions. The Soviets first tested there atomic bomb that same year#, by the development of the atomic bomb it gave the Soviets more confidence that they were at the same level of the US. Churchill and Roosevelt agreed upon to divide Germany into two and then Stalin agreed to help in the Pacific against the fights with Japan and also to attend meetings held in San Francisco. The struggle over the fate if Eastern Europe thus constituted the first crucial phase of the Cold War. While the United States accused the USSR of seeking to expand Communism in Europe and Asia, the USSR viewed itself as the leader of history's progressive forces and charged the United States with attempting to stamp out revolutionary activity wherever it was being done. This meeting was held to discus what was next not that they have won World War II. They began to have a competition with the US, and they didn't stop the developing nuclear weapons, they wanted to be the top guns and sooner or later spread their communist ways to the US.
