Title IX

When Title IX was passed in 1972, fewer than 300,000 girls participated in high school sports. Today the number has increased 847% to an astounding 2.7 million girls ("Update: Title IX" n.p.). While many people would agree that Title IX has played a major role in women's participation in sports, the act is very controversial. Title IX was signed by President Richard Nixon on June 23, 1972, for Education Purposes only, marking it illegal for educational institutions to discriminate because of someone's sex. If they wrestle the girl and get beat then they were beat by a girl. But females aren't the way they used to be. What they are doing is shifting the funding for the programs around and the other girls programs are suffering because of the 'logic' they are using to make it equal. Men have been playing sports for a long time while demanding women to cook and clean for them, once women saw that they to had the ability to have fun and be physically fit they took the chance. We are bigger, faster, and stronger then people give us credit for. Since females haven't had as long to develop the skills guys have they are just a little behind. If guys don't like wrestling girls then too bad, they will get made fun of no matter which way you look at it.
