Black Cat

             SUBJECT: Paper 1 Analysis of a Short Story
             What can the color black symbolize? Does it symbolize the death, the devil or alcohol?
             I think the black cat symbolizes all of these things. The black cat symbolizes the death because the second cat's white part was changing by the time, and there appeared the gallows.
             I think he has two characters; one of these is a good man and the other one is a monster. His monster part forces him to do bad thigs and when he does bad things, his good part wants to punish himself and then he does bad things again, and this is going on like that. I think he does bad things because he can not stand the woman and the cats like him. He thinks that he is not deserving this love. He likes the cats because after he killed the first one, he worried. Originally he does not want to damage the cats, he wants only to damage himself, he does not think that he damage them, he is doing these by thinking he damages himself by loosing the things he has.
             The man's wife is a good woman because she behaves well to her husband altough he does not behave as her. This makes the man crazy. I think the man does not love his wife, because after he kills his wife he does not feel guilty but after killing the black cat he felt guilty.
             He afraids of the black cat, but this is not because the black cat can damage him phisically, this is because that the cat symbolizes
             the other cat's death. Because he says "mornful and terrible engine of Horror and of crime, of Agony and of Death!"
