Integrity

             Integrity is a powerful thing. What is it exactly though? Has it fallen by the wayside with the shift in generations? As the dictionary states Integrity: firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic values, or otherwise known as incorruptible. Someone who has integrity always does what they feel is right. They are leaders and with great pride. They are always in control of the situation that they are in. Someone with great integrity is never going to lower there pride in themselves. Integrity stands for soundness, completeness and honesty. Without integrity you are considered a low grade human being, someone who is going to lower themselves to someone else's level because they are not strong, and have no pride in themselves, no self esteem, and most of all no integrity. Integrity is believing in yourself, it is not about being cocky. This is the hardest line not to cross. So many people feel that they need to tell everything they have done to make themselves feel better. In this case they are not lowering themselves but others by flaunting what they did or what they have. In my case I feel that integrity is something that comes deep down within. It is something you can bring out, but is something that you can lose very quickly. When you lose your integrity you also lose the respect that goes along with it. To me having integrity means a great deal. As a kid you either learn it or you don't. I feel integrity is respecting those who deserve to be respected, and not just respecting them in your heart, but by showing them that you truly respect them. It is about doing all of a group project and never telling anyone, because I know I worked my ass off and I know that I completed myself. By having a 4.0 GPA throughout high school while everyone there thought I was a mess up because I hung out with my life long friends who choose to make wrong decisions.
