The Civil War involved the Nationalists and the Communists in a dispute over land and who would rule China. I feel the Chinese could have easily worked it out themselves instead we caused more problems with our attitudes towards international responsibilities. President Roosevelt also sent a United States Mission to Yenan called the “Dixie Mission.
The Civil War also involved Russia and their dealings with the Chinese Communist Party. During the mediation General Marshall helped the Nationalist by supplying them with vast amounts of arms and other materials. Finally in 1946 the Nationalist and the Communist Party signed a truce agreement issue to cease fire order. Russia was also involved by helping the Chinese Communist by sending Russian troops over to help them to defeat the Nationalist until they had to leave. In the end the Communists were victorious by gaining the people’s enthusiastic supports. Fighting a two front war of its own, having to supply other allies and facing enormous distances involved in moving anything from the United States of America to China.
President Roosevelt sent General Patrick Hurley to try and patch things up between Chiang and Mao. Marshall to China to mediate the hostilities between the Nationalist and the Communist Party as a cover to strengthen the United States forces of aggression and the reactionary Nationalist rule in various ways. the conflict between the Communists and the Nationalists go back all the way to the 1920’s. Another reason the Civil War was an impact on the United States of America was because the Nationalists were anti-Japanese. Also the United States confronted two challenges in China.
