Gambling

             Gambling is defined in The Reader's Digest Great Encyclopedic Dictionary as risking or betting something of value on the outcome of an event, a game of chance, etc. The dictionary also refers to gambling as taking a risk to obtain a desired result. That is very true in every aspect of the word. There are many people who waste their lives away spending there hard earned money losing at casino games, bets on sports games, and a lot of other stuff. There are several thousands of Americans who spend their money stupidly every day in casinos. This report is on those thousands of people.
             There are many degrees of gambling. These degrees go from the little gambling like bingo. To the medium degree of gambling like basketball games. To the big bets like in Los Vegas, Nevada, at the casinos. All of these degrees of gambling are not equally bad, but are all done to serve the same purpose. All of the degrees are done to win money that you have already spent.
             In bingo, you buy cards and you try and get a certain pattern and if you get the pattern then you get the money. Usually you lose, so the money that you spent buying cards goes to the winner. When you do win though, you get the money that you already spent. If a person gets hooked they will sit and spend a lot of money and time only winning once. This is one of lesser degrees of gambling, but it can be a very bad habit.
             Betting on basketball, football, or any other sports games is something that almost everybody does in there life time. Sports betting is very risky because in sports betting there is a spread that in order to win the bet your team has to beat the spread. This spread is usually the reason why most people lose at sports bets. Sports bets are happening everyday in our society, even in schools.
