The Man

I think , that the stories "Anthem", written by Ayn Rand and "The Matrix", directed by the brothers Andy and Larry Wachowski, are a very good example for Utopia's. In both movies the themes are very similar. Some examples would be Individuality and what could happen if we conquer or destroy nature. In both stories, the projection of the societies are very different, but the Utopian's are very similar. The main characters live in a world which is controlled by a World Council like in Anthem or a computer simulation software like in the Matrix. Both main characters started rebelling against the societies they were living in.Equality 7-2521 was the main character in story called "Anthem", and he wanted to become an Individual in a society where it wasn't possible to use the word "I". He and all the other people were controlled by councils, and everyone was supposed to be equal. They were not allowed to talk to women and were forced to do things they didn't like to. He didn't agree to that type of society which could be compared with the communist system of Russia, before it collapsed 12 years ago. The writer

They barely got along with each other, and made no effort to accomplish anything. Machines with artificial Intelligence, also known, as A. This is the reason why they chose not to think, and be controlled by councils who decided about their daily life. The reason for that was Neo, a talented hacker. That's why they then created the Matrix, a world which isn't real, but keeps the human under control in order to receive an electrical output to generate the machine. This type of system could also be compared to Nazi or Communist societies, because in those societies it was wrong to disagree, have independent thoughts , ask questions or do things which were prohibited. herself, who was born in Russia during that time, wasn't a fan of collectivism and emigrated from communist Russia for that reason. They have no privacy and there wasn't really a meaning for Individuality for the World Council. Neo always knew, that something was wrong with the world, but he didn't know what it was. He has no right for a private right and all the people including that individual are equal. The main character wanted to make choices, make up their own mind, decide about their own life and adopt things freely with true information. There was a big philosophic issue in both stories: the free will of the human being.
