             Businesses producing similar products are said to be "fighting for the consumer's dollar", and this healthy competition, referred to as effective competition, allows consumers the convenience to choose from a variety of similar products at the lowest possible cost. However, as competition becomes cutthroat, responsible competition sometimes becomes discarded and they may soon acquire the "every man for themselves" approach. Furthermore, the notion is that a businessman must be aggressive and opportunistic, which may lead to stepping on some people's toes. Nevertheless, the saying, "Nice guys always finish last," does not seem to apply to the entrepreneur genius, Bill Gates; does this mean that Bill Gates is a bully and a ruthless monopolist, or just that his entrepreneurial ideas became fulfilled at an early age by his determination and spirit? The notion is that Bill Gate's independency, his risk-taking spirit, and achievement-oriented mentality have played a key role in his success, and that the accusations of him being a heartless monopolist is somewhat ridiculous and it seems to intimate a bit of jealousy from Microsoft's competitors. Hence, Bill Gates, who is often reputed to be a merciless monopolist, is really an entrepreneurial genius.
             First of all, a man who distributes his wealth to the unfortunate cannot be the ruthless monopolist that many tend to believe. His contributions and donations of millions of dollars indicates his compassion to the less unfortunate; for example, his public service includes donating $200 million for computers to schools and $800 million for medical research. With the dedication from him and his wife, Melinda Gates, they have set a foundation to improve health services in less developed countries and also fund scholarships to help pave the future for other potential "Bill Gates".
