There are many things I wish people had told me before I started college. Learning how to successfully survive in college is a task that many students will deal with throughout their first year of college. However, there is a way to alleviate some of the many burdens college freshmen's will eventually encounter. A prime example would be to know what skills you will need to possess before you begin college. Attempting to learn what survival skills you need to successfully get through college, may actually condition your mind for the tasks and trials lying ahead of you. Among these survival skills, are making a good schedule for yourself, attending all your classes everyday, staying organized, and obtaining good study skills.
             Unless your major requires you to do so, overloading yourself with tough classes should be avoided during your first year of college. Avoid having classes back to back so time in between your classes can be used for studying. During my first semester, I had some time in between most of my classes. In doing so, I was able to study for any class I needed to during the day instead of late at night.
             Attending class is a must. This is when you are able to hear all of the important things your teacher will discuss concerning the lesson. If you are not able to attend class, you will not be able to get clarification on something you need help with right away. If you know you will not able to attend class one day, find a dependable person who has notes that you can use to copy. One day, I missed my Chemistry class. When I returned
             for the next lecture, someone told me we had a test that day! Luckily, they were mistaken and the test was going to be the following week. If I would have had a dependable person to tell me what went on in class on the day I was absent, the correct information would have been given to me.
