Do you own a gun? That is the question that is popular right now. There are a lot of gun related violence in our country right now. Congress is seems does not know what to do about this problem. The question that is being asked right now is should people be allowed to carry an armed weapon like a gun. Should we carry that right as Americans? Some people say we should. In this paper I will be discussing the pro and cons of gun control, and how guns affect our lives today. Recently there have been a lot of deadly school shootings. It is something that was virtually unheard of, and now all of the sudden it seems like it is the top story of every news cast around the country. One of the most recent and violent being the 1999 massacre of 14 students and a teacher at a suburban Colorado high school. This would teach them how to properly use and care for a gun as well as having knowledge in where to properly store the weapon and the safety features that can be purchased to help prevent the accidental use by another person. Obviously something needs to be done about gun control in our country. Right now there are a certain amount of days that you would have to wait if you were to purchase a gun. pinion about gun control in our country. Especially with all the high incident crimes occurring in our schools, and gang related activities happening in our communities. As far as people being allowed to carry a weapon in public, the only person I want to see with a gun in public is our policemen. If anyone that wanted to carry a gun were allowed to carry one, the world would not be a safer place to live in. I do agree about having the right to own a gun for the purposes of keeping it in your home for your protection. there are too many "in the heat of passion" crimes. The question is not weather people should be allowed to carry guns, but how can we better our police department and our neighborhoods so that we can keep guns out of our communities. I do not necessarily think that it is perfect the way it is but it is what we have to work with right now. This problem will only get worse if gun laws are passed making it easier for people to get guns. I have seen young and old people shot, mainly due to gang related activities.
