Romewo and Juliet

Webster's dictionary defines responsibility as the quality or state of being responsible. This means somebody was responsible for the tragic deaths of Romeo and Juliet. This play involved so many characters that are involved in the affliction. The main reason for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet is due to the love for each other, and how Friar Lawrence, Tybalt, and the couple themselves cope with it. Tybalt and Friar Lawrence both interfere with the plans of Romeo and Juliet's marriage. These four characters knew that a Capulet and a Montague were never meant to be in love together. Romeo and Juliet broke that idea.
Friar Lawrence is one of the characters who incautiously contributes to the affliction. He is one of the main reasons that tragic deaths occur. He trusts that the two young lovers are truly ready for a marriage and bonds them through marriage. He made the first mistake by marrying them, because he thought that if they became husband and wife their families would come at peace with one another. The marriage brings hatred to the two households instead of peace. Near the beginning of the play, Romeo is anxious to marry Juliet and asks the friar if he would do the honours. Friar tells Romeo:
"Wisely and slow; they stumble that run fast" (2.3.90).
This shows foreshadowing and dramatic irony because it gives a hint that something bad will happen in the future, and something does happen, the tragic deaths. Friar Lawrence tries to explain to the Prince why the tragedy happened and what he was doing in the tomb. He also contributes to the play by giving Juliet the deep sleep potion so she can stage her own death. The Friar thinks he is doing the right thing and has full trust in his plan. However something goes terribly wrong, Romeo is not informed in time, and thinks Juliet is really dead. This leaves a character partially responsible for Romeo's banishment.
