Can Society Handle Knowledge?
Society and individuals can definitely be dangerous when given information. It is what we choose to do with that knowledge that can make it dangerous. We have the potential to make great things in our discoveries, but we usually don’t always do the right thing with that knowledge. In medical sciences, we have found possible advantages in cloning, and instead we cloned secret lambs. We tried to make nuclear energy, eternal energy for everyone, split the atom and what happens? Chernobyl and the incident at the Trojan Nuclear Plant. We have the power to do plastic surgery and allowing those hurt to look alive, some people take these sciences and alter what not need be altered. Joan Rivers and Michael Jackson were never happy.
A clone, is this ethical? Should we be allowed to make clones then pinch and poke at their lives because we created them? These are questions that medical scientists argue, “In power we are allowed”. If we hadn’t found these techniques, we would not be feuding over them. Why i
. . .
Why, unless for good , helpful purposes, do we change and or attempt to alter what we already have natural to us? Does this make us greedy? Or just unsatisfied? It is if our knowledge is leading us down a revolution of entirely new human beings of a new discrepancy. Society usually doesn’t make very good decisions on what and how to use technology and science. This caused the system to shut down and part by human error, the system was shut off. Led us down the road to plastic surgery and it’s advantages both good and bad. It released volitile fusion products from the reactor vessel. The nuclear core had no water to cool it. There is only one of us and even technology cannot alter that. Millions of deaths in Russia on account of the explosion of Chernobyl and to think of what could happen if society ever encountered knowledge like this and decided to purposely use it for our destruction. A patient is the one needing this knowledge. In 1979, a defective valve was the cause of a loss of coolant. Whether it is medical , technological, or social, we can learn from these in our history. By the same time we had all these advantages we also had many more let downs about nuclear energy. This would be so much easier if we loved and appreciated ourselves and others. Why is it though that something bad has to happen, before, things will change, and another advancement in knowledge is made? The reason why this failure is such a problem in today's society is, is that we trade what we want most for what we want for the moment.
