Charles lindbergh

Charles Lindbergh married Evangeline Lodge Land in Detroit on March 27, 1901. He built her dream house in Little Falls where they lived for several years. Charles Augustus Lindbergh was born in Detroit on February 4, 1902. He was taken to their house in Little Falls when he was 5 weeks old. On August 6, 1905 the house burned down, completely destroying it. Along with the house, the marriage went as well. They temporarily moved into a hotel room while they built another house. Evangeline and Charles (C.A.) tried to keep the family together by separating. In 1909, Evangeline told C.A. that she wanted a divorce but because it was unacceptable to voters, she agreed to just keep living apart. Charles started school at age 8 but was always late starting and early leaving due to various trips they would go on. In June of 1912 Charles went to the Aeronautical trials at Fort Myer and there he realized that he wanted to fly. He learned to drive by 11 and drove his dad around helping him with elections. Due to the war, his principle told the students that if they wanted to work on a farm they could, and still receive full academic credit. After that being said, he returned to school only once after that to pick up his diploma

Charles and Anne went on vacation for 16 days, leaving their unnamed child at home with the protection of the guard dog and nurses that never left his side. Within weeks he was commissioned first lieutenant. This made many people dislike him even more, calling him satanic or a pro-Nazi. Then they traveled for 5 months and 10 days to 4 continents. In May, he went barnstorming with Erold G. She wanted to write books but still have babies and maintain a household. Lindbergh paid ransom only to have the dead baby recovered from the woods. He made several visits to Germany where he received a medal from Hitler. Anne and Charles settled down in Hawaii and they discovered that he had cancer in his lymphatic system. He planned his whole burial, having his sons work on his grave before he had even died. They got a German Shepard for protection that they named Thor.
