Calc what?

If getting an A or B over the year is deemed successful than I was successful in this class. But I also feel successful in that I received an A on almost ever test and I feel pretty good about the A.P. exam, even though whenever I feel good about something, it always turns bad. I also feel way more confident in my math skills than ever before and I can do algebraic manipulations, substitutions and things like that way easier than before. I learned more this year, even this quarter, than I ever had in all of my math classes combined, maybe not including Stats though. With the mathematical knowledge have gained throughout the year and the skills that I have developed, I would say that I was successful in this class.

In the first month of school, there are a couple things that helped me succeed in the class. The first thing is the same thing everyone else says, get used to doing homework and come to school. The other thing that I found more important than anything was to get a grasp on the material. Just like in Statistics last year, the first couple of chapters set up the rest of the year, and if you don?t understand the concepts then it is really hard to understand what is going on. One more important th

I hate going through a class feeling that what I have done either isn?t good enough or I have received a grade that I don?t deserve. practice tests, many people had the right answers but got them wrong because they couldn?t change it to find the correct multiple choice answer because they either had problems with simplifying or manipulating it so it was one of the answer choices.

If I were to teach the class next year I would have group tests before each exam or an overview of the types of problems that will be on the exam. The main reason I am taking these calculus classes next year is not only are they prerequisites for the chemistry and physics classes, but I liked to be challenged. Not with work or a full load of classes but I like to be challenged mentally. But I would also tell them that they need to focus their energy in the first four months of calculus. One more thing, something that I mentioned earlier, is don?t get cocky. The only thing I would do differently is I would teach everything including the polar graphs, parametric functions, hyperbolic functions and so on. Remembering what I thought I needed to do or did do in this class will greatly help me because by the time the next class comes around, I will be back to my usual ways of procrastination and laziness. This gave the students a good idea of what to study and also showed how to solve the problems if they were fuzzy on how to solve them. I felt these were more like simple geometry and I even remember the trapezoidal rule from earlier math classes.
