Leonardo Da Vinci’s family was never supportive of him until he became an artist. His father was a wealthy Florentine notary named Ser Piero da Vinci. His mother, Catherina was a poor, peasant girl with artistic talent, which became the basis of Leonardo’s talent. Before living with his father and his wife, Leonardo spent the first 4 years of his life living with his Mother in a small village outside of Florence.
Other than the well-known artists Michelangelo, Raphael, and Titan, Leonardo Da Vinci was the most famous artist of the Renaissance period. When his father realized Leonardo's talent, he took him to live with him and his wife in Florence. In 1472 he was accepted in the painter's guild of Florence, and worked there for about six years. During the period of time that Leonardo spent painting the Palazzo Vecchio, he also painted several other works, including the most famous portrait ever, the Mona Lisa. Leonardo died at age 67. In order to read the Notebooks one must hold the pages up to a mirror and it is believed by some that Leonardo did this to keep his writing and theories secret. The Mona Lisa is still located in Paris, France in a display for the public to view.
Leonardo painted his most famous piece titled the "Mona Lisa" in 1504. He detached himself from the world and liked to be alone. Leonardo was remembered as an intelligent man who had an immense curiosity for life and the world around him. As a military engineer, he designed fortresses. Finally, Leonardo Vincenzo, whose real name was Vincenzo Peruggia, was arrested. Leonardo de Vinci greatly influenced the Renaissance in Europe and many of his important works continue to be used and enhanced throughout the world. His characteristics can be described as strong and capable.
