Baboon Male chacma baboons weigh between 57 and 68 pounds, while females average 33 pounds. Gazelles are herbivores (plant-eaters). The chacma's fur ranges in color from dark brown to black. These graceful mammals are roughly 2 to 3 ft (60 to 90 cm) tall at the shoulder. The Sahara is bordered in the north by the Atlas Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea and in the west by the Atlantic Sea. Some are straight and some are gently curved. Adult male ostrich are solid black in color with white wing tips while the smaller females are brownish gray. Chacma baboons mainly eat fruit, though leaves make up a big part of their diet.
