             They are very important to the American Criminal Justice system because it makes sure that police and other law officers are following the rules. The exclusionary rule and fruit of the poisoned tree doctrine are two of the most important aspects of our system, without these it would be almost impossible for people to get a fair trial, because the police would be able to do whatever they deemed necessary to collect the evidence that they think they need. This is a very vital piece of our justice system because it actually does bring truth to our motto here in America "Innocent until proven guilty."
             In many cases, this will work against the officers, but this why they have to pay attention to the fourth amendment of our Constitution. With these two rules and doctrines in place, we can always know that justice has been served.
             Some people disagree with both of these ideas, they that think that just because evidence is obtained illegally that the criminal should not get off on technicalities, they believe that the officers could be charged for this and it also keeps these criminals in jail, even if evidence has been obtained illegally.
