The Storekeepers Law is sure to convict most shoppers who read it...if they are honest, about their shopping tactics. As a female shopper, I have enjoyed two primary things (which both take a great deal of work) and they are shopping and getting a great bargain or as I often say, "getting a steal of a deal of a lifetime of a sale".
             As a consumer, my perspective has always been that a storekeeper is there to provide great service while extending undivided attention and patience to the consumer. Whether window shopping, doing price comparisons or planning to purchase, the thought never crossed my mind that I could be deceiving the storekeeper, and hence, robbing him or her of their time when inquiring about merchandise I have no intention of purchasing. There have been many occasions when I shopped for the sake of having something to do; some place to go or to kill time. I have utilized the services of storekeepers to retrieve merchandise that I had no intention of purchasing – no matter what the item costs or how well it fit! After my inquiry was over, I would simply say "thanks, but no thanks" to the storekeeper and walk away. In the past, I never saw anything wrong with wasting the time of a storekeeper!
             The plot thickens when I consider the items I have purchased, worn and then decided to return! Some of my justifying excuses included but were not limited to my belief that it is a woman's right to change her mind; I did not like the way it looked on me when I arrived home; I never had the opportunity to wear it that season - now the item is out of season; and I had an item very similar to the new purchase already in my possession! I am guilty of shopping "just because" (not because I needed to see it or wanted to see it –
             just thought I should get a closer look at it) and consideration for a storekeeper never came into play.
