Lee's parents had their share amount of traveling abroad; his father, Lee Hoi Chuen, was a popular actor in the Cantonese Opera Company and had his wife Grace accompany him on trips. So then it came to be that in the Jackson Street Hospital in Chinatown of San Francisco, their second son was born and named Bruce, referred to by an attended nurse, as an English name and Jun Fan, his Chinese name meaning "to arouse or shake foreign countries."At the age of 3 months, Bruce's family moved to Hong Kong also known as "the Queen of Exotic Cities" and "the Pearl of the Orient".
