Indigenous People
Our treatment of indigenous people here in America is very cruel. We need new policy so that we can treat them equally. One of the best examples of how our country treats its indigenous people is the Native Americans. We may think that everything is good and that we give equal treatment to everybody but that is not the case. Native Americans have been mistreated since the day the white man stepped foot on this country
We need better policies to help the Native Americans coexist with us in a way that will benefit not only them but us as well and right now there is nothing in place to do that. However the suffering of people like the Native Americans is not only limited to our country but to many others as well. and I'm not sure what's worse, how they were treated then or how they are treated now. India, Australia, parts of Africa, and many parts of the former USSR all have similar problems where oppressed indigenous people are left out to dry by their own country that they had settled first. Our country was based upon the freedom of all people and that everyone was equal and there is so much talk about our country being so diverse and all this land of the FREE home of the brave and I just have to laugh because for many this is not true. It took hundreds of years just to get our country to accept the many different races living under our flag yet there has been no help to the people who were originally here and to just say that Darwin's survival of the fittest applies is just wrong.
