A lot of music of the time did that. It also makes reference to the hate in China but some didn't see the hate that was occurring in the U. The social aspect is that young people, for the most part, didn't want to fight in the war but if drafted still had to fight. They might even be protesting the war but if they get drafted then they had to fight. It is a good example to show some things that were going on in 1965.
