Can Discrimination End?

It is all the rage today to be politically correct, or it’s not “en vogue” to be anti prejudiced. But in today’s world, racism is a pandemic that is still in full swing, no matter how hard people try to make it disappear. Global racism is something that is spreading and soon too be detrimental to many societies who can’t see the outcome of its affects.

I believe that stopping the spread of global racism is possible, but I don’t know how probable it is. It’s been shown throughout history and the text that racism occurs everywhere and is a driving force that people hold onto and embrace to say the least.

We have been taught that racism is a social construct so we know that it is man made and therefore can be destroyed or replaced by something else. I believe that it is beneficial for societies to eliminate racism because of a great deal of reasons. Elimina

. . .

Through this we can objectively look at peoples of different cultures with a new viewpoint. I think the key difference here is whether or not we let what we want take control, which is the continued discrimination of many racial groups; or what we need to take control, which is a multicultural plethora of people and cultures to immerse ourselves in and learn from. There will be opposition because people will not want to give up their comfort zone for something that is not a given that will happen. Also another way t to eliminate racism is through cultural embrace. Man no matter what country wants to make a majority and subordinated group.

The last way to eliminate discrimination would be to cover our past and future. ting racism will allow society to benefit from other cultures and what they may have to offer. What I mean by cultural embrace is to look at another persons culture with a blank slate about it; we would be a sponge of sorts absorbing and learning about why they do what they do and how it makes them who they are. Also, in the old phrase of its hard to teach on old dog new tricks, the stereotypes and misrepresentations that are engrained in societies mind are hard to replace and could take years or even decades to reverse. One of the biggest factors involved in racism is ignorance, and if you inform people of their misconceptions and replace them with the realities of the groups it would help greatly. This means, to look to our elders who pass on the racism and tell them and inform them of their erred thinking. The same can also be said about race relations around the globe.

Embracing these theories will help the state or race relations today but there will be some definite opposition the ideas presented. Also, eliminating racism would also provide a more open ground for the solving a lot more world issues such as hunger, poverty and other diseases that may be spreading throughout the world.
