Blink 182: take off your pants and jacket review
Blink 182 has won the hearts of punk rock fans all over the United States over the past 4 years. In those years they have released numerous albums that have each went platinum multiple times over. However; there was great disappointment in their 1998 album "Enema of the State." While at the same time of disappointing people, Blink was able to capture the hearts of millions of new fans. Many would argue though that they did this by "selling out" from the punk world, and turning pop. Blink vowed to settle this unhappiness with their brand new album "Take Off Your Pants and Jacket
" The CD immediately shows its promise with the opening song, "Anthem II. That definitely doesn't mean that "Take off Your Pants. "Take Off Your Pants and Jacket" is an extremely good album to say the least. The main idea and theme of this album fit in perfectly with this present generation of teenagers, or generation X, as we have known to be called. " Just with that one song alone, you can hear and feel the fresh new sound that the Blink promised. By far, it is world's better than "Enema of the State. " However; it does fail to live up to their first album "Cheshire Cat" and it doesn't even contest with "Dude Ranch" which was by far their best album that they have on the shelves. "Take Off Your Pants and Jacket" proves to live up to Blink's promise of a more "punk" sound, yet it still mixes quite well with the pop beat that made them so famous with "Enema of the State. My overall rating of this album, a 3.
