Who Jim Turner is Sexually

Just the other day my friend was at an interview for a babysitting job, and when the father of the child left the room, she asked the four year old boy if he wanted her to be his babysitter. And this was his response. He said “Sure if you take off all your clothes and sleep with me.” Now the child didn’t even know what he was saying, he absorbed this idea from the media, or perhaps from his single father. This is one sad example of how outside ideas influence our own sexuality. I think it would be beneficial for me to talk about how I’ve been influenced before I talk about my ideas of my own sexuality. So in the next few paragraphs I would like to talk first about, society’s views on sexuality, God’s views, and finally my own views.

Society has a twisted sense of sexuality. The media tries to create fetishes and fantasies so they can gain profit and ratings. Everywhere you look all you see is sex. Its thrown in your face a thousand times a day. Sex is tied with just about everything. If you watch commercials today all you will see are sexually suggestive advertisements about laundry detergent, yogurt, socks, cars, and almost everything else. His intention was not for people to have multiple partners or to have sex freely with whomever you want. I would sometimes look at pornography on the computer or in magazines, and I would see the lie that was being sold. Pornography was introduced to me by my older brother. What can you do when you are constantly blasted by a false sense of sexuality? Can you positively know who you are sexually with all this false sexual propaganda?

The greatest lie, and most effectively used form of false sexual propaganda is pornography. Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said 'the two will become one flesh'…” I Corinthians 6:13-16

I really believe that God will always know what’s best for us. Even if you are married, and you put sex before other things, it can tear you apart. I have made the decision that I will wait until I am married to have a sexual relationship. I would say that at some time in each man’s life he has had to battle pornography, and it’s a battle that some men lose. So that’s why God has to be the focus. We will be able to enjoy a pure and mature sexual relationship. He has given me pure desires for a happy home were he is the center of my relationship. I personally agree that sex is a gift. God gave Adam, Eve so that they could live happily together sharing themselves openly with one another.
