Teens:Leading Our Counrty to success

Teens need to be encouraged to work due to the numerous advantages that they will ultimately discover in the working field. Working teens discover life long skills and responsibilities that they will use throughout their school years and even in their careers.

While maintaining a job teenagers are forced to learn responsibility in many different aspects. While working, teens are making their own money and are learning the importance of money in today’s society. Money managing is a major responsibility that some people never come to appreciate. Through working teens are earning this valuable attribute for their life ahead. Independence is also something that teens strive for, in working they find their own sense of independence: their own job, their own money, and the ability to support themselves. Emily Payet, a high school sophomore, says that through working she has earned her own money, giving her a feeling of independence.

Wouldn’t everyone like to see today’s teens, tomorrow’s leaders, guide our country to success?. They are paid for the hours that they have dedicated themselves to, they receive raises for a job well done, and often they receive recognition for being good employees. In most schools students are only praised for making a good grade, but usually they are not rewarded. The decisions that our teens will ultimately be the deciding factor of our nation’s future. Working gives teens a chance for freedom, independence and working also helps to prepare teens for their life ahead. Working helps to educate teens of important job skills, and assists them in exploring their options for careers. ”

They are many advantages that come with working but these are only a few. Working gives a sense of what lies ahead. Working also appears to promote a more positive outlook on teens’ educational prospects, which as most teachers will say, goes along way in motivating students toward academic achievement. Riggio, Director of the Kravis Leadership Institute, working teens are significantly more positive in their future expectations. I might want to continue doing it after I finish school. Irene Brand was thinking of a career in journalism before she landed a summer job working with animals at the New England Aquarium.
