Why Do Opposites Attract?

             It is amazing how two people can have such different personalities, goals, morals, or lifestyles but can be so much alike. Two people who were brought up different ways, under different religions, and in completely different places can fall in love and live "happily ever after" or can become the best of friends. What is truly funny is how it always ends up that way, like in Romeo and Juliet, for example. They proved that love was blind by falling head over heels for each other despite the fact that their families were long time rivals and strongly disapproved of their relationship. Two people can be so different and yet they share the same best friend, how? How does someone's preference in the qualities of a friend fit two people who are completely opposite? Why are we sometimes attracted to people who have a completely different outlook on life than we do, as in the "good girls want bad boys" and vice versa. Is it because deep down inside we long to be something that we're not, but we're too scared to let it shine through because of what other people might think or is it that we are so full of ourselves these days that we couldn't have a relationship with someone who is antything like us? Maybe these are questions that have to be left to the unknown but I witness these "everyday life mysteries" in my daily life in so many different ways.
             Let's take my dating life for example and boy is it a roller coaster ride. I was with one guy, Josh, for four years and with him I experienced some of the best and worst times of my life. Although we were engaged for a year and decided to call it quits after four, I still would not trade one single moment of those years for anything in this world.
