The Time Machine

In the book The Time Machine by H.G. Wells the time traveler makes many decisions. I am writing this paper to show and explain his decisions. I will tell which were good and which weren't.The book starts with the time traveler inviting some friends over. He starts to explain how they live in four dimensions, height, length, weight, and time. Meaning nothing can just appear it must go through evolution and develop to it's surroundings. It has to gradually develop. He keeps proving his different opinions on time traveling and ends by telling them about the machine. I think that it was a good idea for him to keep proving he was right but he shouldn't have told them about the machine because information could have leaked, leading to the theft of the machine. The second night was like the previous one, still nobody believed the time traveler. There weren't any real decisions in this chapter that affected the book. The reason is because this chapter is setting up the story. The next day in the book the time traveler makes a big decision. This is where he first tests it by going forward a few hours in time. He then uses the machine to go into t

His attempts to get back to the sphinx quickly were hard though because of the equipment he was carrying. He finds his machine in the sphinx and goes to time travel again. This was a mix between good and bad. During the trip Weena fainted in fright. The idea to test the machine was a good one, being that everything new should be tested to know its capabilities. The other creatures might but that's because they have evolved. First he found a pipe which he used as a club then he found a sword and an axe. He left the ruins seeing no trace of his machine. I think this is one of his best ideas because he only has one machine so he needed to keep it safe. As they start coming towards him he finally goes back to his own time. he started exploring instead of looking for the machine which he shouldn't have done, especially after discovering the underground people. It was bad because he wouldn't be able to defend himself if he were attacked. Or worse make a irreversible mistake in the past. This is another really good idea because she could help him as his guide on this "new" planet. When the time traveler retuned he saw the place where he saved Weena.
