The main reason people use anabolic steroids is to increase their sports performance. Body builders are also the top abusers of steroids. Another reason is to increase their muscle size and reduce their body fat. They use it to not be picked on (to intimidate). Some people use it because the have muscle dismorphia. Muscle dismorphia is a behavioral syndrome which a person has a distorted image of his/her body. Some people use it because of peer pressure. I used it to increase my muscle size and decrease body fat.
             The effects anabolic steroids have on behavior are that they increase irritability and aggression. Some examples of those two effects are: physical fighting, armed robbery, and using force to obtain something (that's how I got caught). Anabolic steroids have been reported to cause euphoria, increased energy, sexual arousal, mood swings, distractability, forgetfulness, and confusion. Steroids also cause serious things such as heart disease, kidney cancer, liver cancer, depression, hostility, eating disorders, stunted height, beard, and acne and risk oh HIV.
             Anabolic steroids are illegal unless prescribed by licensed physicians. They are controlled substances. You could do time if caught with them. A year plus! You could also face a fine. A minimum of $1,000. A must is minimum of 15 days and up to two years and a minimum of $2,500. that's all just for possessing. Sellers are punishable of up to 5 years and/or $250,000. If caught selling a second time faces up to 10 years and/or increased fines.
             Anabolic steroids can be taken orally or taken intramuscularly or they are in gels or creams. Drugs are "stacked"(two or more different drugs at the same time).
