Death&dying
             This paper will look into the practice of Euthanasia, it's history, and it's future in the United states and abroad.
             The word Euthanasia originated from the greek language: eu meaning "good" and thanatos: meaning "death" . The most common meaning given to the word in modern times is "the intentional termination of life by another at the explicit request of the person who dies." Euthanasia usually implies that the act must be initiated by the person who wishes to commit suicide. Some groups define euthanasia to include both voluntary and involuntary termination of life. Like many issues dealing with death and dying this issue has many moral/ethical/and religious questions. The topic Is strongly debated whenever the practice comes into question.
             Most people believe that this topic fairly new and recent. I found that this is not true. The debate over if someone has a right to die at a certain time picked by them has been going on for many years. The debate is not specific to a country or certain part of the world. In The United States the first Euthanasia bill drafted was in 1906 in the state of Ohio. The bill was defeated but that was not the end of the debate as you can see by current news coverage of events world wide concerning the right to die.
             There are several types of euthanasia that are currently practiced in the united states and Europe. These types are as follows.
             PASSIVE EUTHANASIA: Hastening the death of a person by altering some form of support and letting nature take it's course. For example:
             Stopping medical procedures or medications.
             Stopping food and water allowing the person to dehydrate/starve.
