Rock music started in the 1950’s with various small bands such as the Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley, Bill Haley, and the Beach Boys. These gurus of modern music drew a larger crowd at each show, eventually leading to the most listened to music in the world.

Rock and roll started with rock, it then led to rockabilly. Rockabilly is rock and hillbilly music put together. Elvis Presley pioneered the way to rockabilly. Then various other artists took up that road to rockabilly.

Woodstock

With drugs came ‘Woodstock’, in 1969, and together with peace, love, and drugs, a new phase was about to take place in the world. However with the hippies came drugs, and in that time rock stars were almost always ‘druggies’, and that was accepted in society, that rock stars were druggies.

Rock and roll plays a major roll in the lives of Australians as well as other countries around the world. One ideal that the hippies had was anti-violence, which was virtually impossible, as the Vietnam War was going on at this time. In the 1980’s and the 1990’s different genres of rock music were formed. Rock and roll is now the most listened to music in the world today, and is the best music in the world today. Other versions or rock ranged from the ‘bubble-gum’ rock of the Osmond Brothers to the intentionally vile punk, from which words were not clear to understand and disrespect for society was formed. People at Woodstock and all around the world were luring youths to protest Vietnam and violence all over the world.
