Travel Essay

Although I have never ventured father from New Jersey than Florida, the trips I have taken with my family have been numerous and very fun. Nothing could have prepared me for our last vacation to Florida.
We started out in a calm sunny day of August 15. We were packing our bags into the car talking about the good times that neither my sister nor I could ever remember. I t was a bad day to start out our trip. Sunny and calm, no one wants to leave anywhere when its nice out. After we had finished with all we needed to we were making a check list to make sure my dog had a person that would feed him while we were gone. Let him out, you know, the priorities. After we had that settled we moved into our car began to leave for a trip that would be the longest, saddest of our lives to that point. As we were on the highway everything was going very well, it would take us about three or fours days to get to Miami, Florida. Through those four or so days we experienced rain that I never thought was possible. Rain that was so intense that almost made our car skid.
We arrived in Miami on August 19th. It was a beautiful day. The sun was up yet it was blistering hot. The heat was very intense. We arrived at my grandmother's house off the coast of Miami. We pulled up to the front door. My grandmother and my aunt greeted us, just as we were getting out of the car. The house was a beautiful ranch style house, white and a large property surrounding it. After we unloaded we all sat down and caught up with what we were all doing. I was outside catching chameleons. It took me a while to finally figure out how to, since whenever I got one the tail would pop off. I finally was able to gather a lot of them in thirty minutes. When it was getting late in the afternoon we decided to take a swim in the enclosed pool. From what I can remember the pool was very warm and deep. I tried, but to no avail get down to the bottom.
