             "Advertising does not merely sell up products, it sells us lifestyles"
             Today's advertising has a lot of different strategies to try and get a consumer to buy their product. Over the last twenty to thirty years the art of advertising has been dramatically changed. After the introduction of television the face of advertising had its first major change. The companies had the ability to show people how their product could change some ones life and make people feel better about themselves; this was the start of a new era in advertising. With the introduction of Television products started to change their ways of advertising so their product was aimed more at advertising idealistic lifestyles and the way people look and feel to promote their product.
             When you take a look at the television in today's lifestyle you usually see young, fit attractive people doing things that you want to do for example use or consume the product they are advertising. On the other hand you sometimes see older women using cleaning products to make their house hold a better place, you very rarely see older men enjoying something that they are doing because of a product, this is because the products are making more money off women because they usually handle the money around the house hold, earlier in advertising the advertisements were aimed totally at older men because they held the money in the household but the company's have started to realise that women play a major part in deciding what the money gets spent on, this is why you see a lot more younger working women in ads than older men.
             One of the ways that the companies sell us products is by using a strategy called "Testimonial" there are 3 main kinds of people that they use in these "testimonial" ads, Famous, Normal and Expert.
