The Open Window
The story is based around a window, hence the name "The Open Window". It all starts with a young girl, named Vera, and a guy named Mr. Nuttel, having a conversation about her aunt who is yet to come onto the scene. The little girl asks the guy if he wants to know why her aunt keeps the one unparticular window open in the middle of October. This is actually the beginning of the story. In my opinion there were not really either a protagonist or an antagonist in this story. Nuttel spots three gentlemen coming toward the window. "Three years ago, that would be since your sister's time. However, I did like the central idea of the story. It makes no reference to the story and I don't think it should have been added. I also do not think there was really any strong or weak point in the plot, because I found this story not to have much of a plot at all. They have gone on this trip many other times, and each time to return to this window. He grabs his things and is out of there before the aunt and the little girl can even say a word. I did not enjoy reading this short story. 819) This was the last line of the story, and it came from absolutely nowhere. There was no real action for these characters to partake in. The climax of the short story does not take place until Mr. a hunting trip, only to never return.
