Paper Plate Maker

The plate maker is a device used in combination with the offset press to create copies from a single piece of paper which is also known as a master. There are many different types of plates which can be made with the plate maker, such as direct image plate which is used for small amounts of copies and have the image adhered to paper by use of a grease pencil and when you are ready to place this direct image plate onto the press you use special fluid which makes the background that the image is not on receptive to water so that when printing with the offset press your paper does not appear all black.

Photo direct plates are another type of plate which is used for making small amounts of copies of something because they are not very durable. They’re made directly from paper that is the same size as the image or item to be printed. The plate is given an electrical charge and the part of the paper without the image gets the charge

. . .

The metal plate is then coasted with subtractive plate developer which lets you put the plate in the machine right now. The two different plates sit behind the machine inside little trays and can be manually loaded into the back of the machine, once the tray of plates are loaded the machine automatically uses them until the trays empty.

Metal plates or Presensitized plates are used when making a large amount of copies or when you are copying something with the offset press which you’d like to save the master of so that you can copy it at later times without making another plate. then an oppositely charged toner is adhered and fused to the image area before printing. There is also a small window outside the machine which shows the amount of solution and allows you to put in more solution by lifting up the top of the machine and pouring solution into the hole above the circular window. Otherwise if you didn’t want to use the metal plate right now you’d have to put a gum plate chemical on the plate to stop it from oxidizing or rushing. There is also a counter to allow you to see the total number of copies the machine has made during its lifetime.

In conclusion the plate maker is an excellent machine which if used properly in combination with the offset press can make anyone’s job of making lots of copies of something rather easy.

Inside the plate machine are an array of items which are important just as much as what the machine produces.

The brightness level is also an important feature on the plate machine it can be set anywhere from one to five depending on the situation, most projects need to only use a brightness of two. A plate machine holds two different sizes of plates.

Diffusion transfer plates are another type of plate made using the plate maker they consist of a negative which is sandwiched with a receiver and when sent through a machine called a processor and the receiver and negative are peeled apart the image will be on the plate. Then fixer is applied to the plate to make the image more transparent. The goldenrod blocks the light and lets some of it through the negative to burn the image onto the metal plate.
