Otherwise if you didn’t want to use the metal plate right now you’d have to put a gum plate chemical on the plate to stop it from oxidizing or rushing. There is also a counter to allow you to see the total number of copies the machine has made during its lifetime.

Diffusion transfer plates are another type of plate made using the plate maker they consist of a negative which is sandwiched with a receiver and when sent through a machine called a processor and the receiver and negative are peeled apart the image will be on the plate. Then fixer is applied to the plate to make the image more transparent. The goldenrod blocks the light and lets some of it through the negative to burn the image onto the metal plate.
