'Us and Them': A Matter of Perspective
             I'd like to think of every generation as a group of people around the same age. It's mostly determined by people having kids, which means your parents are one generation before you and your kids are a whole different group below you.
             Every generation has its own characteristics, simply because they are bound by time. As time goes, new 'groups' will be born, new features or habits will automatically come up as well. I believe that every generation has to have something; their own thing, that distinguishes them from the next and the previous generations.
             One most noticeable trait which differ one group of age from another is in their way of thinking. That is, the way they perceive and handle things. And that too, applies to the differences between my generation and my parents'. In my opinion, people my age are obviously more open-minded towards in all aspects, such as friends, lifestyles, and fashion. What is meant by open-minded is that we tend to be somewhat fearless; we accept varieties of things with open arms and total trust, unlike most old ones do. We are not afraid to try new things even though sometimes they turn out to be bad. Sounds cocky huh? probably; nevertheless, it is still worth it for the excitement.
             But sometimes, that audacious behavior tends to get out of control, which in turn leads to conflicts between generations. In my opinion, these tensions happen because of misunderstandings between one side and the other. For example, when parents tell us not to do things, we often see them as too fussy and conservative and all that. But probably that is not all true. Come to think about it, maybe parents feel that they have gained much more experience and look at the world differently than we do. Then, they try to explain and interpret those experiences for us, which is sometimes difficult for us to believe when not experienced by ourselv
