The Story of an Hour
The story, “The Story of an Hour” had many twists and turns to it. It was about a young woman, Mrs. Mallard who had been told that her husband had died in a train wreck. This woman was in a state of grief, but also had realized that now she had been free. This story was taken place anytime from (1851-1904) were men were the leading figures of the house. The feeling that I get from this story is that Mrs. Mallard didn’t have a happy marriage. One of the many things that boggled me about this story is they left out many parts that would be needed to ful . . .
This Richards guy was portrayed to me as a shady character. They give no background to the marriage of the Mallards. Like she said in the end of the story “free, free, free!” The way I see it is that there was no love in there marriage, at all. Then while she was up in her room, she felt a new life, a free life, and one without her husband. In the beginning of the story they say that Mrs. She would have been thinking about how she wished her life were over too. How was she so young with heart trouble? They leave that unanswered. Mallard would not of had even thought of a new life. The story says she had wept in her sister’s arms with the feeling of “wild abandonment”. Mallard was “afflicted with heart trouble”. Then they say, “she was young, with a fair, calm face”. He was nowhere even near the crash site? If he knew Mr.
