             "When we look at modern man we have to face the fact that modern man
             suffers from a kind of poverty of the spirit, which stands in glaring contrast
             to his scientific and technological abundance, we've learned to fly like birds,
             we've learned to swim the seas like fish, and yet we haven't learned to walk
             the earth as brothers and sisters."
             The cataclysmic events of September 11, 2001 have left indelible images in our memories. The horrendous sight of a high jacked plane crashing, full velocity, into the south tower, unforgettable images of innocent people, holding hands, leaping from the buildings 90 storeys up, these scenes will never be erased from our minds. The most powerful nation on Earth was brought to its knees, transforming the world forever. In the wake of these deplorable attacks, however, a positive factor has emerged. A renewed patriotism has swept not only America, but the rest of the world. Many countries have joined together, leaving their past grievances behind, to fight terrorism as one. Yet in the mist of these events, a minority group has been overlooked. Muslims have been victimised and stereotyped all over the world, put into the same category as the terrorists, not because they possess the same beliefs and ideals, but because they are Muslims. They have been virtually ignored by the Media and tormented by prank-calls, violent attacks and racist slurs like; "kill them all!" and "why don't they go back to where they came from?" In an era where it was thought that racism was on the decline, it is still very much alive.
             "Race" can be defined as a "body of prejudgments that distort our ideas about human differences and group behavior".
