Drug abuse In the United States of America, we, the people value several things, some of which are freedom, expanding and taking care of our families and our financial security. We, the people, take such things for granted. We also discourage some behavior, such as crime, laziness and use of illegal drugs. Drug abuse is one of the most discouraged behaviors in our country. Use of illegal drugs is harmful to the user and ~~~ those with whom the user comes in contact. I have a brother that is an alcoholic and user of crack cocaine. As a child he was a loner. He had very few friends, but he mostly kept to himself. When we were growing up, yes my parents both drank, and we had to go through the weekends of parties, hanging out that our parents did. However, my brother was the only one who waited up to see if mom and dad would get home. Perhaps that’s when he started to drink. He was a functioning alcoholic since his youth and no one knew. Everyday humans are abusing drugs without anyone recognizing their illness, like my sisters and I did. Teenagers experiment with drugs to find out about the world they live in for themselves, to prove their self worth, and to experience as much as possible. With the possible side effects one may wonder why people think drugs are worth the trouble they are. After EVERYONE is using just like them. These drugs were used to induce sleep and relaxation. He became even more distant and the drinking increased to the point that we could no longer tolerated his behavior. When a person thinks of a drug abuser one usuy pictures a person that looks like they had just jumped out of a garbage bin. We should attack the supply and demand. The more that heshe shrugs off these early warning signs the more inevitable it is that more negative outcomes are occurring. Many do not use drugs or alcohol daily and do not experience physical withdrawal when they stop using. These drugs are commonly ced the gateway drugs and are considered the easiest to obtain. The problem presented with this effect is that when the drug wears off the person is left with the same problems concerning their life as when they took the drug. People experimented with different drugs to gain the good, well-centered feeling that is associted with getting high. My brother was very close to our mother, so when she died he absolutely lost it.
