Individualism Vs. Collectivism

Individuality and independence is destroyed is a collectivistic society like the one in Anthem, this causing personal thoughts, wishes and interests to be demolished. collectivism is displayed throughout the novel, as Equality 7-2521 sinfully disobeys the orders of the collective, and unintentionally threatens them. It shows that he won't pick choose these men as people to work for him or follow his orders, because that would go against all rules of individualism and independence.
