A safer and healthier world

Wouldn't it be nice to not have to use chemicals on the grass? Not to have to pay for the rising gas prices, oil, and car insurance? Worry about our children getting hit by a car or a drunk driver? Be stuck in traffic every day? What if I told you that all this was possible, all it would take is some work on everyone's part to do so, would you believe me? Well it is possible; all we would have to do is instead of using automobiles as our primary means of transportation go back to using horses and buggies. Because horse manure is an excellent fertilizer, chemicals would no longer be needed to treat crops, grass growing at parks, schools, businesses, and in people's lawns. Worrying about children playing in the grass and constantly watching out for those little flags that say "Just Treated by Chemlawn" would be a thing of the past. This would make the world a healthier place, cut down on pollution and possibly cut down on, or even eliminate some forms of diseases, allergies and chronic illnesses. Horses eat hay, which grows naturally therefore eliminating our need to pay for rising gasoline prices, oil,

Where in our crowded neighborhoods would we keep these horses and buggies? They wouldn't fit in our garages. Having one place in each neighborhood to board our horses would bring back a sense of community and maybe we would get to know our neighbors and help each other out. Horses would eliminate rush hour traffic, there would not be as many life-threatening accidents, therefore eliminating the need for insurance. With horses as a primary means of transportation, parents wouldn't have to worry as much about their sons or daughters getting run over and killed because horses can see where they are going, they avoid running into other people and objects. Since we would have to allow for more time to get where we want or need to go, people wouldn't be able to rush to get places, therefore instilling more patience in people. Automobile insurance is something that everyone needs and no one likes to pay for. With the need for gas and service stations to a minimum, there would be plenty of extra land in every community to board horses. In the unfortunate event of a car accident where your car may be totaled and people could get hurt of even killed it is a necessity. Drunk drivers as well as hit and runs are a growing problem in today's society, causing injuries and deaths, especially when it comes to children. For these reasons going back to using horses as a primary means of transportation would make this world a safer place to live and is an issue that I think everyone should seriously consider. With over fifty-five percent of the population being overweight, I believe that the extra exercise and everyday work of caring for the horses would do more good then harm. antifreeze, power-steering fluid, tow trucks and mechanics. When horses gets sick they would need too see a veterinarian and there would be a 2Doctors, but that bill wouldn't even come close to how much money is spent just for car maintenance on a monthly basis not including automobile insurance. Instead of two eyes on the road their would be four which I believe would almost if not completely eliminating injuries and deaths caused by hit and runs or drunk drivers.
