How Religion has Shaped History

Over time, many things have shaped history. Natural disasters have influenced our health and how we live, such as the plague, during which people were sick for many years. Another great influence is humans, or political figures. Political figures have rocked history with decisions they have made and the way they live their life in the public eye. In addition, people have made history by leading strikes, wars, that have touched countries all over the world. The most common reason for war is religious differences. The effect of religion all through history is very visible, even in today's society: religion has had the most influence on wars, and is the bases on which America was formed. When we think of religion and how it has helped mold our history, we might think of moral values; however, religion has affected more then that. It has changed the way we live our lives, even from our early history. This period of history called Anglo-Saxon was heavily influenced by the Roman Catholics. The churches critism of there "north Umbrian" dress for being to pagan actually had a large impact on the way people dress from 400-900 AD. The changes of the Anglo-Saxons were strongly encouraged by the Roman Catholic Church (clothing and apparel)

As you move through history you will find that religion is evident in all things, like the way structures were built. Our public school system started as an al boy's Christian school. They were based upon the idea that had brought relics and fetishism into popularity. The students were expelled for not reading the books. Herod was able to rebuild and expand the temple grounds by extending the platform out onto the slops surrounding the temple to the east, south, and west. King Solomon first built this great temple to the God of Israel on mount Moriah, but it was later destroyed in battle. Religion may not have the most impact on our history it is still a very important part of any culture and will remain so even in to the future. Reverence for, and even actual worship of physical remains followed the struggle to recapture all the great relics. It was ruled the "free exercise" was suffered and they were awarded 50,521 for their children to go to a Christian school (Maddox 162). "The place of religion in out society is an exalted one, achieved though a long tradition of reliance on the home, the church, and the inviolable citadel of the individual heart and mind" this was a published quote from a magazine on the 18th century (Blanshard133). Herod was always preparing another project (Baker). The parents of the children took it to court and won their case. Religion in today's society is so different from what it used to be. For example, the Thirty years war was because of the reformation in the church.
