Jane Eyre: Settings of the Story Jane Eyre is a well written book that will bring out all emotions. Jane struggles with hatred and acceptance. She longs for true family, friends, and love. Her searching takes her all over England. Jane's life is full of heartache as she looks for happiness. The novel of Jane Eyre, By Charlotte Bronte, is a tragic drama with a heartwarming ending about a girl named Jane Eyre who grows into a woman during the 1800's. In the start of Jane's story she becomes a stronger person as she learns to deal with her aunt's hatred. The first takes place at Gateshead Hall when she is just an infant. Jane's mother and father die within a month of each other of typhus fever (32). She is then sent to live with her Uncle Reed and his wife. Later her uncle dies and her Aunt Reed starts to treat Jane with increasing harshness as she threaten her and keep her away from the other children(17). The bitterness that Jane felt twoard her aunt, made her stronger for later situations in life, like when Jane was heartbroken by Mr. Rochester, she was strong about the entire fiasco. Aunt Reed influences Jane to feel the first real hatred she has ever felt because up to that point Jane had had incense
There are many settings and each has a profound effect on Jane. John proposes marriage, although they do not really love each other (609). Jane had craved to have family which she could love. They are married and Jane finally has found true love and happiness (676). She likes the opportunity to try and please her teachers. This strict environment helps Jane become wiser and stronger. Moor House lets Jane finally gets the family that she has always wanted, St. Two years later Edward recovers his sight in one eye and Jane gives birth to their son.
